Delete your account
You can delete your The Architect account and everything in it at any time. You don't need the app installed to do it. Choose either option below.
What we delete
- Your account: email address, password and sign-in record
- Your name and profile photo
- Everything you created in the app: goals, non-negotiables, routines, schedule, to-dos, plans and reminders, important dates, notes, gratitude entries, weekly priorities, reviews, streaks and settings
Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered. If you want a copy first, email us and ask for your data. We'll send it within 30 days.
What we keep, and for how long
A small amount of data has to be kept for legal reasons. Nothing you wrote in the app is ever kept.
| What we keep | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Payment records: amount, date, payment reference, and the name, email or phone number on the payment | Kenyan tax law (Tax Procedures Act, 2015, section 23) | 5 years from the payment |
| A note that your deletion was completed: date and email address only | To show we handled your request | 12 months |
| Encrypted backup copies held by our hosting provider | Automatic system backups | Overwritten within 30 days |
Delete some data, keep your account
- Profile photo: Settings → Account → Remove photo. It's deleted from our storage.
- Your name: clear it in Settings → Account.
- Entries, notes, plans and reminders: edit or delete them in the app. Changes sync to our servers.
- Anything else: email us and say what you'd like deleted. We'll do it within 14 days.
Good to know
- Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Your data stays on our servers until you ask us to delete it.
- Subscriptions: deleting your account ends your subscription, and you won't be charged again. Time already paid for is not refunded automatically. If you think a refund is fair in your case, ask us.
- On your phone, uninstall the app afterwards to remove the copy stored on the device.
Read our Privacy Policy for full details of how we handle your data and your rights under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
